Parks & Recreation Department

Oshtemo’s parks are a true source of community pride. They offer beautiful places to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature and neighbors, and boost your health through recreation and exercise. Our parks host special events, sports tournaments, family gatherings, and more, while also protecting wildlife habitat and supporting clean air and water.

Oshtemo Township owns and maintains three community parks: Flesher Field, Oshtemo Township Park, and Drake Farmstead Park, as well as three historic community buildings: the Oshtemo Community Center, Grange Hall, and the historic Drake House. These parks and facilities are open for all residents and visitors to enjoy.

We invite you to get outside and discover all that Oshtemo’s parks have to offer.

Volunteer with the Oshtemo Friends of the Parks, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing our parks.

Monthly opportunities include service projects, special events, and volunteer activities. "Friends" remove invasive plants from trails, organize community events such as the Music in the Park concert series, lead guided hikes, and more. Our volunteer base is small but growing, and new volunteers are always welcome.

Support Our parks

Volunteer your time.

Oshtemo Township’s Parks and Maintenance Departments manage the parks with volunteer support from the Friends of the Parks and the Oshtemo Historical Society. The Parks Committee, an advisory subcommittee of the Township Board, guides park planning, management, and budgeting. It includes two Township Board members and two public members appointed by the Board. The Committee typically meets the third Wednesday of each month at 4:00 pm. Residents are welcome to attend. For details and meeting locations, contact the Parks Department.

Memorial Benches

Support our parks by purchasing a dedication plaque for a memorial bench at Township Park, Flesher Field, or Grange Hall Park. This is a meaningful way to celebrate a special occasion or honor the memory of a loved one. Your tax-deductible contribution of $1,500 will provide a lasting benefit to our community’s parks.

For more information, please contact Vanessa Street at vstreet@oshtemo.org.
