The Oshtemo Township Fire Department is authorized to conduct a Fire Safety Inspection that is often required for special event permitting and Health Department licensing. The inspection and database used operates under the Michigan Fire Inspectors Society Michigan Mobile Food Consortium.
To schedule an inspection with Oshtemo,
Step 1: register your mobile food vehicle if you have not (starting Jan 1, 2025). Any fee associated with registration is per the provider of our database and software developer.
Step 2: Prepare your vehicle for inspection, have all systems installed and properly tagged as needed (kitchen hood, suppression, extinguishers) and have your gas and CO detectors (may be a combo device) available.
Step 3: If your vehicle utilizes LPG or CNG on your vehicle, obtain a passing pressure test from a licensed plumber or HVAC provider. Call us if you cannot find a provider.
Step 4: Then, contact us to schedule.
