Oshtemo Station 1
Fire Station 5-1 is located at 7275 West Main and is the main administrative fire station. It is staffed with 3 full time Chiefs (Chief Fire Officer, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal, and Deputy Chief) that work Monday – Friday 8-5 pm, along with 1 full time firefighter/Driver Operator and 1 POC (paid on-call) Firefighter who work a 24 hr shift. This fire station covers the north section of the township, responding first due to addresses North of L Ave. Fire Station 5-1 houses Engine 511, Engine 521, Brush Truck 573, Rescue 551, Rescue 504, Car 500, and Car 501. Fire Station 5-1 also responds to automatic/mutual aid requests from Alamo Township, Kalamazoo Township, City of Kalamazoo, and Mattawan.
Oshtemo Fire Station 2
Fire Station 5-2 is located at 3500 South 6th Street. 5-2 houses 1 full time Training Officer who works Monday – Friday 8 – 5 pm, 1 full time Firefighter/Driver Operator, and 1 POC Firefighter who work a 24 hr shift. This fire station covers the south section of the township, responding first due to addresses South of L Ave. Fire Station 5-2 houses Aerial Platform 541, Engine 513, Squad 582, Brush Truck 572, Rescue 552, and Trench Rescue 502 and 503. Fire Station 5-2 also responds to automatic/mutual aid requests from Texas Township, City of Kalamazoo, and the City of Portage. These
Fire Station 5-2 opened in the summer of 2001, replacing the fire station at Parkview and Stadium. Fire Station 5-2 is the main training center for the fire department, many unique training aids were constructed into the building itself.
Oshtemo Fire Station 3
Fire House 5-3 is located at 3270 North 3rd St and is an unstaffed reserve station. The station is not currently housing any apparatus. When it is, POC personnel can respond to this fire house and pull an apparatus and bring it to the scene if more resources are needed. Fortunately several POC personnel live in close proximity to Fire Station 5-3.
